gretel home is a Miami-based online shop that I got the chance to see in person over the holidays. Run by Abby Kellett from her home in The Roads - proof that you can have young kids and a crazy stylish modern abode with a minimalist, but colorful Scandinavian vibe (you know, the kind of home you see in a design magazine and think no one with a real life can have) - Gretel Home is an online marketplace for global modern wares for the home.

Over the holidays (yes, it took me a bit to get around to posting this - shoot me), she opened her house to a little pop up shop, that's come and gone, but the website is always here for you. I bought - two baby gifts (a set of stacking alligators for a cousin who moved away from Florida with her baby and a little animal coat rack for another cousin who lives in Boston with his baby - more on why everyone is moving to cold gloomy places later) and a book by a local author called Mr. Munchlee's Magic Top Hat.

The prices are nice. Abby was nice. Her home was nice. But most importantly, the stuff is nice. And you know how I feel about nice stuff that you think you need. You do need it!
