pedro pan movie tells the story of people we know
today I have something really special and close to me to share with you all. You may be famililar with Operation Pedro Pan, the group that brought more than 14,000 unaccompanied minors from Cuba to the US when the country started to turn. Pedro Pan is responsible for bringing many recognizeable faces to Miami and beyond when they were just young kids with scared parents. Pedro Pan experiences varied for different kids, some were placed with family members who were already here, some were displaced for years, but almost all of them were greeted in this country by my grandfather, known to them as George, at the airport.
A group of graduate film students at FSU has been making a student film about Operation Pedro Pan and they tapped my father to play his father (seen above). Here is the trailer and my dad's big screen debut and a picture of my Grandad swinging infront of a cave in Oriente, Cuba.
