this month, Vanity Fair featured an excerpt from the new novel, Back To Blood, by the very legendary Tom Wolfe all about Miami.

Based on these few pages we can expect commentary on Basel and the secret world of art buyers, mixed cultures clashing in one city, and the money in Miami - while non of this sounds particularly revelatory, it's Wolfe's style, the keen observer, quoting snippets of passing conversation (with tons of these !...?!), calling people as he sees them, and getting in on insider cultures like the hot rods in California in the 60's and the teeny-bopper pop music (seriously, read The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby).
