langerado's cancellation bad news for the not-so-great Miami music scene? It's not earth-shattering news that it's hard for us all the way down here in the Caribbean-wonderland to entice bands to spring for the extra gas money to make it to the tip of the country, nor is it news that Langerado 2011 was cancelled in early September, but is it worth a minute to mourn as the weekend that the festival would have been comes to a close?

Langerado, a festival in the vein of Bonnaroo, Coachella and SXSW was last in 2009 and was anticipated to come back to its glory days after securing the sponsorship of festival giant Boros. The headlines included   all sorts of music I love to blast in my car guiltily, most notable Death Cab for Cutie and Arctic Monkeys and some locals like Rachel Goodrich. Like other festivals of its kind, it was to take place in a desolate location, perfect for drugs and hoola hooping.

Langerado, you'll be missed, or should we say Langer-adios.
